Another Win at the ART: The client, the visa and the very dodgy migration agent….
The client, the visa and the very dodgy migration agent….
The sister of a potential came to me when she was fed up with the dishonesty, incompetence and laziness of his dodgy migration agent – and it is a good thing she did.
The client had arrived on a visitor visa – the dodgy agent: a real cowboy promised the client work and a permanent residency visa (PR) through the employment sponsor scheme. Despite the fact the client did not possess the skills required. The visa was as expected rejected but not before the client almost lost an arm – crushed in the machine he was working on. A machine he had no training for.
This dodgy agent appeal to the ART – and lost: of course he did!
The clients sister then applied for a medical treatment visa, but she is not a lawyer she is a nurse and the visa was rejected.
Fortunately as soon as the visa was rejected she reached out to me.
Medical treatment visas are specifically made for this situation, however the mess the dodgy migration agent had made meant the waters were very muddied!

The matter was remitted.
On 14 October 2024, Australia will establish the Administrative Review Tribunal (ART), replacing the current Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT). This reform marks a significant change in Australia’s administrative review system.
